Nigel Taylor
Nigel is an industrial chemist who worked in the security printing industry for 15 years before founding Exchequer Print Security with Russell Thurlow in 1999.
His experience covers cheque book systems, travellers cheques, postage stamps, credit cards and a range of secure document types.
He has been active in developing paper standards for cheques with Standards Australia, and on new standards for MICR printing and Design Specifications for cheques and deposits with the Australian Payments Clearing Association.
As President and later the International Director of Xplor, he developed a worldwide understanding of the electronic document industry and security printing.
Russell Thurlow
Russell's security-printing career spans more than 40 years. Commencing with Barclays Bank in London, he pioneered MICR cheque printing, and then moved to Australia in a senior R&D role with the major commercial security printer.
Through the 1980's Russell championed the development of laser technology for MICR printing culminating with its acceptance and approval by APCA.
Over a 20 year period Russell has been involved in many trade associations, both in Australia and overseas. He was instrumental in creating the first cheque paper standard in Australia and has been very active with Standards Australia, the Australian Payment Clearing Association, Xplor International and the Security Printers Association.
In 1999 Exchequer Print Security was founded with Russell and Nigel Taylor as directors and shareholders.
Russell continues to represent the security printing industry's interests on APCA committees, and presents to industry forums on related topics.
